Summer Solstice: Celebrating Young Talent

We are pleased to invite you to our summer concert, entitled "Summer Solstice: Celebrating Young Talent". 

For this event we will be celebrating young Fredericton musicians Sung-Ho (David) Kwon and Thomas Nicholson, both of whom were Senior Award of Excellence winners at the 2013 Fredericton Music Festival! 

David will perform as soloist for the Clarinet Concerto by J. Stamitz, while Thomas has composed a brand new piece in the neo-classical style titled Tombeau de souvenirs. Don't miss the world premiere!

The concert will take place on Saturday, June 21st at 7:00pm at Christ Church Cathedral. Tickets are availble at Reads Newsstand, from orchestra members, and at the door. $20 adults / $15 seniors / $10 students / Free for children 12 and under.

A beautiful evening for a concert

The Fredericton Chamber Orchestra performed a concert in Officers Square on July 3rd. The weather was perfect. A member of the Fredericton Photographic Society was on hand to captures some nice shots. Here are a few of Roy Crawford's photographs. Click on any image for a larger view.

Messiah Performances a Great Success

The Fredericton Chamber Orchestra accompanied recent performances of Handel's Messiah performed by the Fredericton Choral Society, the Sussex Choral Society, the Bethany Singers, soloists Sarah Hallyburton - soprano, Andrew Pickett - counter tenor, Owen McCausland - tenor, David Mitchell - bass. The orchestra and choirs, under the direction of Björn Runefors, performed for a capacity audience at the Saunders-Irving Chapel in Sussex on December 10, 2011, and at Sunset Church in Fredericton, on December 11, 2011. Over 1200 people came to hear the two performances.
